Dead By Daylight – Killer Builds

Ahh Killer perks… Where would all the salty messages be without them. Below is a small list of some of my favorite builds for killers. Some more easier to pull off then others and depending on the killer you play but all the fun to be had. Mind you some perks work better depending on the killer you are playing so if any of this builds don’t seem to be helping or doing what you thought they would, it could be the killer. Remember there are 84 killer perks. So mix it up and have some fun with them.

Obsession Build

Here we have HEX: Ruin to help stopping the survivors from doing the gens added with Furtive Chase and Dead Man’s Switch. Dead man’s switch will block the generators while ruin takes down the progress as long as you hook the obsession and Furtive Chase will make sure Dead Man’s Switch keeps going. Barbecue & Chilli to have an idea where and what survivors are doing after you hook someone.  Make sure not to tunnel out the only obsession or this build breaks.

Barbecue & Chilli

A deep bond with The Entity unlocks potential in one’s Aura-reading ability.
After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors’ Auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 metres from the Hook.

Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a stack-able 25 % bonus to all Bloodpoint gains, up to a maximum of 50/75/100 %.
The bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded post-Trial.

“I just can’t take no pleasure in killing. There’s just some things you gotta do. Don’t mean you have to like it.” — Drayton Sawyer

Furtive Chase

You become obsessed with one Survivor.
You lurk in the shadows, eliminating your victims one by one.

Each time you hook your Obsession, you gain 1 Token, up to a maximum of 2/3/4 Tokens:

While in a Chase, your Terror Radius is reduced by 4 meters per accumulated Token.
When a Survivor rescues the Obsession from the Hook, that Survivor will become the new Obsession.
All accumulated Tokens are lost when Obsession is sacrificed or killed.
You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

“You have no idea what I have planned for you. It’ll be in the news for weeks. I’ll make sure of that.” — The Ghost Face

Dead Man’s Switch

You become obsessed with one Survivor.
After hooking the Obsession, Dead Man’s Switch activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds.

While activated, any Survivor that stops repairing a Generator  before it is fully repaired causes The Entity to block the Generator until Dead Man’s Switch’s effect ends.
Affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura.
You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

“I’ve seen the look on a man’s face when he realizes he’s going to die.” — Caleb Quinn

HEX: Ruin

A Hex that affects all Survivor’s Generator Repair progress.

All Generators automatically regress at 100/150/200 % of the normal Regression speed whenever they are not being repaired.

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

“A curse is upon you. It will cause your ruin.”

Generator Guard Dog Build
This build is to keep your gens safe from those mean survivors. Honestly, it works knowing what and where the survivors are and doing. It works better on smaller maps and with a killer that moves around fast. Gearhead will show you what generators are being worked on once you hit a survivor twice with your basic attack. If you down a survivor Surge comes into play by exploding generators near you. Oppression will be key if you come across a generator being worked on but the survivor went into hiding it will help with up to 3 other generators, in hopes they fail a skill check. Surveillance is used so when the effected gens you damaged with Oppression and Surge you can see which ones are being touched.
Gearhead

You have got an ear for well-oiled gears.
After hitting a Survivor twice with your Basic Attack, Gearhead activates for 20/25/30 seconds.

Each time a Survivor succeeds a Good Skill Check while repairing, the Generator will be revealed by a yellow Aura for as long as it continues being repaired.
“Sometimes a man’s best work is what puts him in the grave.” — The Prison Warden

Oppression

Life has been difficult for you, so you will make it difficult for others.
When damaging a Generator, up to 3 other random Generators also begin regressing.

Triggers a difficult Skill Check if the selected Generators are currently being repaired.
Oppression has a cool-down of 120/100/80 seconds.

“Damn them as they would damn us.” — Charlotte Deshayes

Surge

Your eerie presence charges the air and interferes with technology.
When you put a Survivor into the Dying State with your Basic Attack, all Generators within 32 meters of you instantly explode and start regressing.

Applies an immediate 8 % Progression penalty.
Surge has a cool-down of 60/50/40 seconds.

“The creature appears to have some unknown influence over electricity and nearby electronics.” — Hawkins National Laboratory

Surveillance

Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability.

The Auras of regressing Generators are highlighted in white.

If the Regression process is interrupted on a Generator, its Aura will be highlighted in yellow for 8/12/16 seconds.
Surveillance increases the audible range of Survivors’ Generator-repairing noises by 8 meters.

“Are you gonna behave?” — Amanda Young

Basic Jump Scare Build

Ok so, this is a mixture of jump scares and basic build. We got Thanatophobia that slows the game down for each injured, dying, or hooked survivor and Sloppy to keep them bleeding. Dark Devotion for when you find your obsession and get a hit on them you can then try to jump scare another survivor off a gen. Beast of Prey to make looping you around walls a little tricky for the survivors if you can pull it off.

Thanatophobia

Their courage fades in the face of their undeniable mortality.
Each injured, dying, or hooked Survivor incurs a stack-able 4/4.5/5 % penalty to all Survivors’ Repairing, Sabotaging, and Cleansing Action speeds, up to a maximum of 16/18/20 %.

“She plays with us and revels in our pain.”

Sloppy Butcher

You know where to hit to make them bleed.

Wounds inflicted by Basic Attacks cause Survivors to suffer from the Hemorrhage and Mangled Status Effects:

Hemorrhage increases the Survivor’s Bleeding frequency by 50/75/100 %.
Both Status Effects are removed once the Survivor is fully healed.
“It’s in its sadistic nature. There is no swift kill as it delights in the obscene spectacle of our agonizing suffering.”

Dark Devotion

The display of your Powers creates a whirlwind of panic that spreads throughout the land.

You become obsessed with one Survivor.

Hitting the Obsession with a Basic Attack causes them to emit a Terror Radius of 32 meters for the next 20/25/30 seconds.

You are granted the Undetectable Status Effect.
The Obsession hears their own Terror Radius.
You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

“And terror shall take hold of a defiant non-believer, who shall falsely announce my arrival.” (The Tablet of Adiris, 48.9)

Beast of Prey

Your lust for a kill is so intense that your connection with The Entity is momentarily lost, making you totally unpredictable.

Upon gaining Bloodlust Tier I, you are granted the Undetectable Status Effect for as long as Bloodlust is active

Beast of Prey grants 30/40/50 % bonus Bloodpoints for actions in the Hunter Category.

The bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded during the Trial.

“Where did she go?”

Perk builds can have so many benefits for either side and to get the job done. You can mix and match them all and see what works best for you and your favorite killer. So explore and have fun!
