Dead By Deadlight: CHAPTER XX: Resident Evil Overview
So the new chapter has hit the public test servers and with it, we got not just one but two survivors -Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy- which gives us six new perks to mess with as a survivor and -drum roll- The Nemesis taking his spot as a killer in Dead By Daylight. We also get a new map that stands to be the largest map within the game; Raccoon City Police Station.
If you don’t know who this is, you must have been living under a rock. He first made an appearance in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) and in Resident Evil movie (2002). He’s now being released into the realms of Dead By Daylight in 2021 but not alone. He is the first killer to come with AI-controlled minions -a pair of zombies- that will aid in the hunt of survivors.
The Nemesis will be the first killer to carry survivors under his arms instead of over the shoulder like the rest.
His difficulty rating is intermediate based on the time to properly learn how to play him and use his power.
As for attacks he’s the fourth killer to attack with his bare hands, punching survivors down. His power is the T-virus in a whip-like form called Tentacle strike and after getting to mutation rate 2 you can break walls and pallets with it. Striking the zombies and survivors with your tentacle strike will increase the mutation rating.
Nemesis is also the third killer to speak in the game but only while dealing with Jill Valentine. If he moris her or pulls her out of a locker he will say the infamous “S.T.A.R.S.” line from Resident Evil.
I’m seeing a lot of Jills in the future games.
You have been designed to track down and eliminate targets.
At the start of the Trial, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 5/6/7 seconds.
“…it knows what it wants and won’t stop till it gets it.” — Carlos Oliveira
You know how to brutalize one member of a team to cause a panic.
Whenever you put a healthy Survivor into the Injured State with a Basic Attack, all injured Survivors suffer from the Oblivious Status Effect for 20/25/30 seconds.
Hysteria has a cool-down of 60 seconds.
“Sorry I got a little jumpy there. Didn’t know quite what to expect.” — Robert Kendo
The NE-α parasite provides you with the intelligence and awareness needed to set a trap.
After kicking a Generator, its Aura is highlighted in yellow.
When you put a Survivor into the Dying State with a Basic Attack, every affected Generator explodes, regressing their progress by 6 % and causing their Auras to disappear.
Any Survivor repairing a Generator when it explodes will scream and suffer from the Incapacitated Status Effect for 10/12/14 seconds.
Eruption has a cool-down of 90 seconds.
“It can use weapons?” — Jill Valentine
Leon Scott Kennedy
Leon enters into the realms marking another police officer as a survivor. He made his first appearance in Resident Evil 2 (1998) being the rookie officer straight out of the academy at the age of 21, Kennedy requested an assignment to work for the Raccoon Police Department. His reason of choice was the widely publicized murders taking place in and around the Arklay Mountains.
He left quickly – which didn’t help with his girlfriend- to the city and I bet he hoped he didn’t after… well zombies but hey! He made it and now gets to play cat and mouse with some tough killers.

Bite The Bullet
Pain hurts you as much as anyone, but you would prefer others do not know that.
When healing, you make no noise, including Grunts of Pain:
Failed Healing Skill Checks do not trigger a Loud Noise notification and only apply a Regression penalty of 3/2/1 %.
“I can do this.” — Leon Scott Kennedy
You have adapted to a world in chaos and making what you can from the debris.
After repairing Generators for a total of 70/60/50 %, Flashbang activates:
Enter a Locker while empty-handed and press the Ability button to craft a Flash Grenade.
The Flash Grenade is left behind when escaping the Trial.
“Get outta my face!” — Leon Scott Kennedy
You keep a careful eye on objectives when they are slipping away.
While repairing Generators, complete 5/4/3 Good or Great Skill Checks to activate Rookie Spirit for the remainder of the Trial:
Once active, the Auras of any regressing Generators are revealed to you.
“I’ll stop this, lieutenant. I promise.” — Leon Scott Kennedy
Aww, what can be said about the founding member of S.T.A.R.S.? Her first appearance is in the first Resident Evil (1996) making her the oldest member of the Resident Evil crew to join the realms.
She has made her way throughout Resident Evil and into the movies, she has also appeared in other games including Street Fighters and Marvel vs Capcom.
Many have listed her among the most popular and iconic video game characters.
I for one am very excited for this addition to the survivor’s side!
You know how to withstand an enemy stronger than you, and it starts with hunting down and knocking out their support.
You cleanse Totems 20 % faster.
Gain another, stack-able 20 % Cleansing Speed bonus per cleansed Totem.
After cleansing a Totem, the Aura of the Totem farthest from you is revealed to you for 2/3/4 seconds.
“I don’t mind a little detective work.” — Jill Valentine
You have come back from near-impossible odds… and you will do it again.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, instantly gain 40/45/50 % to your Healing progress.
“It’s my turn, bitch!” — Jill Valentine
When direct combat is not an option, you still find ways to strike back.
After repairing Generators for a total of 66 %, Blast Mine activates:
After repairing a Generator for at least 3 seconds, press the Ability button to install a Trap, which stays active for 35/40/45 seconds.
The Aura of Trapped Generators is revealed in yellow to all Survivors.
A Generator can only be affected by one instance of Blast Mine at a time.
When the Killer damages a Trapped Generator, the Trap explodes, stunning them and blinding anyone nearby.
Blast Mine deactivates after triggering successfully.
“You want S.T.A.R.S.? I’ll give you S.T.A.R.S.!” — Jill Valentine
