DEVOUR Review – Burn Her Together
When I hear the word devour I’m thinking of food but then again I’m always thinking of food.
A bit little Homer with donuts but food. Just food. But I digress.
DEVOUR is a co-op horror survival game that’s out on steam. The game came out on Jan. 28th of this year and with its new map released last week – CrackedGaming decided to check it out.
DEVOUR is a 2 to 4 co-op horror game. You play as one of 4 cult members and you must work together to stop Anna, a possessed cult leader. Since its release, the game has gained a following with 2.5k reviews and overall reviews being very positive.
The developers definitely struck gold with this one as it has all the qualifications – in my book – of a repeatable game.
- With just the farmhouse map and going through that map countless times you still get lost in the maze of rooms and trying to find the other way when Anna decides to be in your path.
- I love playing games with my friends. Solo games don’t get a lot of attention from me.
- There’s just enough jump scares and things to find – like the roses and of course the goats – that you’ll find yourself in the game for over an hour.
- The urge to play it again and again.
I’m a chicken by nature so when a horror game hits all my buttons I know that’s a good game.
You play with up to four players and start outside of the fence in the farmhouse. Once you jumped the fence you start finding hay, medkits, and gasoline. My best advice for you is to stock everything up before releasing the first set of goats. I like gathering everything up. Afterward, release the goats and head inside. There’s more stuff to collect throughout the house including keys to unlock rooms. Just be careful as you move around as random demons will start spawning in and of course… Anna.
The Asylum Map Trailer
Cracked Gaming decided to try out the game. It only being 5 dollars we figured hey why not. Thankful we did like the 3 of us had a lot of fun playing DEVOUR! The first night we did normal mode 3 times before we finally defeated Anna. There was a lot of laughing, screaming, and some strange moments that just made that night a blast for all of us.
The second time we played we played on hard mode and actually did it in one shot but boy was it a close call!
We plan on going back for nightmare mode next week or playing on the new map that was just released last week – The Asylum Map – a free in-game DLC you can download now!
We found out we could headbang in the lobby and had a good laugh with this for a while
Then we found my first rose while J3st3r was being chased by Anna who honestly just wanted a hug.
If you are looking for a fun horror game to play with your friends make sure to plan for a few hours of playing as this is your game to try out!
